00:00:00
good morning and it isn't that men and a huge well curve and c. v. cal
00:00:05
a global cash for um great to see lots of familiar faces and we
00:00:10
have a really exciting lineup today so i think we'll have great conversations
00:00:15
just to introduce myself my name is uh energy i i'm an independent consultants
00:00:20
um my role today is facilitator stroke
00:00:25
a sergeant major um we've got
00:00:27
a lot to get through so i will be asking you to
00:00:32
sure yeah i my simple responsibility of keeping time i'm i'm
00:00:37
coming back from the brakes on time and so on
00:00:39
okay i cop whatever mind is obviously if there's a
00:00:43
fire we're just gonna shoes that that all that
00:00:46
i'm torn listens on that as a set on the left here there's also
00:00:51
sat at the other end of the building on the right um
00:00:56
a couple of your mind is uh i just and that
00:00:59
you know a that we are law live streaming
00:01:02
all day so it's gonna go out that um we will not be live
00:01:08
streaming in the brakes say that's when you can tell us what secrets
00:01:12
um and the other thing would really really like to encourage each you sure as to the snippets of wisdom
00:01:18
uh with the ice well the with the white wild and the hash tag is
00:01:23
durable cash for um caps o. g. capital c. capital that um
00:01:31
we've got a networking reception this evening so to make sure you're available so that
00:01:37
so that you can have an option easy to talk to everyone um and other than that i think we can just
00:01:43
still all out with the uh l. playing and welcoming remarks from nigel tendencies the human
00:01:48
assign director for some international and also the chair of the cal old sunlight you
00:01:55
i can uh and uh well good morning everybody uh and the the main thing to do really it's just a thank you very much
00:02:00
for the coming of coming along where there are many events and discusses
00:02:04
around cats programming going or maybe it's a really appreciate your
00:02:08
your tendons being a cow a it is a man the
00:02:12
base network uh i'm fifty something organisations at the moment
00:02:16
and we really hope as a board our our intention we'll watch cap of the network last you
00:02:22
previously seen a quite technical projects from between a few agencies doing research and so on
00:02:28
we opened up made it more the mat member base network so that we could
00:02:32
have these kind of discussions so that people could come into a space in
00:02:36
which hopefully is a little bit less politically charged a bit more open we
00:02:40
can really think about the issues at hand and how to solve them
00:02:45
it's um exciting time for cash you know with the commitments that we made in the grand bargain for example
00:02:50
we potentially looking at billions of dollars of more
00:02:54
aid going through cash transfer programming methodologies um
00:02:58
uh so you that like israel up cheating but it's
00:03:01
also significant challenge it challenges on institutional boundaries
00:03:05
chances are its internal institutional boundaries but also our external ones the the boundaries between
00:03:11
our organisations we should developed over the years if not decades
00:03:15
because of the old model of doing a eight and a breaking this down can can really be challenging
00:03:21
um but i think if we keep all eyes on the big picture which is fundamentally how do we
00:03:27
help people affected by disaster in the most appropriate way had we help them
00:03:32
be the agents of their recovery have we put ourselves in this service
00:03:37
rather than sit is ah cells that for me is the key price and the stance which this
00:03:42
discussions they help us do that and the contribution cow can make to was that the um
00:03:48
i'm i'm excited about and i'm really interested in your input and thoughts
00:03:53
it's great to have so many different contractors here um
00:03:56
academics research is you and then is angie a.'s
00:04:00
so again thank you very much for all giving of your time so she
00:04:03
to speakers for preparing a time uh to to talk to us
00:04:07
and i really hate the way it can be it's own financial sharing as
00:04:11
say slightly safer space than some of the forms perhaps a capital forty
00:04:16
it's just a question of bringing people together to try and crack these really nazi tricky issues
00:04:23
so thanks very much the cup team of push a huge amount
00:04:25
of work uh into organising these couple days uh today and
00:04:29
and it's more the members they um and it's been a lot of work uh on the board uh uh you know
00:04:35
really feasible if we also she said thank you very much that uh and also if if
00:04:39
you think you to s. d. c. c. of uh financially helped us put on today
00:04:44
i'll stop there um but yeah i think during the day i got the chance to mingle
00:04:48
in the meeting number of you and um uh look for to discussion had thanking him
00:04:54
thank you no joke
00:05:00
um we're very lucky to have a hundred or come in our uh uh for the keynote speech so
00:05:06
and really it's directive africa asia or latin america
00:05:09
caribbean pacific in the director general decade
00:05:14
um so hundred will speak we will hopefully have time
00:05:17
for a uh a couple of rounds of questions
