thanks a lot can you you knew when it's perfect so first of all thank you for
00:00:11
organising this amazing event until having us and thanks to switch what the partnership for organising today session
00:00:18
um so be and we knew we welcome to my presentation on driving
00:00:23
i'm changing the what affected through integrity management so be looking into a good governance a
00:00:28
issue now a bit different um to be of the sessions that we have today but um
00:00:34
and not less interesting and um my name is religion it
00:00:39
i workforce econ and uh we develop innovative solutions for sustainable development
00:00:44
and uh we work with a good governance issues but also
00:00:49
um provide entrepreneurial support which will not be the focus of today's presentation but i'm
00:00:54
happy to um talk about that in the market place uh and and the networking sessions
00:01:00
thought today i will share some lessons learned on developing and implementing
00:01:04
the so called integrity management approach um what we call in washed approach
00:01:10
with more than thirty what the sector organisations was right and um things to
00:01:15
our partnership with sequel we had uh the presentation of cutting down on that this
00:01:19
morning we were able to just uh into the second phase another thing yeah
00:01:23
and uh implement integrity management um under the w. p. i. p. program in albania
00:01:32
okay great so why integrity management and the what to sector
00:01:37
um did you know that at least ten percent of
00:01:40
what the sect investments is lost due to mismanagement of correction
00:01:44
and um we can i mean quickly calculator now have how much how much
00:01:49
money is lost in this is a just an estimation because we don't uh
00:01:53
we don't know the exact numbers of course so to tackle this challenge um and to all the calm
00:02:00
the gap between resources this time to the sector for so many decades already but the
00:02:05
challenge of achieving s. t. d. six um we have developed the so called integrity management approach
00:02:13
to reduce those are necessary losses and to um provides um what the
00:02:19
sector organisations with a systematic approach um to tackle um yeah risk for corruption
00:02:27
so the goal is to improve processes within the organisation for example of what a utility
00:02:32
but also at the same time um reduce losses
00:02:36
because of mismanagement and a corruption of that attracts
00:02:42
so how do we do this and what have we achieved so far
00:02:49
first of all the so called integrity management tool box it's a comprehensive methodology so it's
00:02:54
a participatory workshops like a sequence of work salts um with the whole stuff of the organisation
00:03:00
and it consists of a set of um risks that i'd be fine
00:03:04
for the organisation and also then the selection of instruments to tech adults right
00:03:09
this is then documented in the road map and implemented throughout so the course of a couple of
00:03:14
years of course because change processes take time and of course the company i try taylor coaching apart
00:03:22
let me also depend was combining this participatory qualitative methodology with um
00:03:29
systematic quantitative assessments so we conduct baseline and and line assessments to monitor progress of course
00:03:36
and together with sickle indicative w. we have just
00:03:39
a been able to um into the second faith um
00:03:43
i'll engagement and i bring your web in our supporting utilities um
00:03:49
um on institutional level so um we
00:03:52
moved from directly supporting um utilities to um
00:03:57
supporting an institutional consultant um and the more systemic uh to get more systemic intact
00:04:07
so to sum it up the inverse approach um
00:04:11
if improve the overall management of utilities improve their financial
00:04:16
and operational performance and of course the quality of their services
00:04:19
and also also reduces their reputation risks because not just um citizens
00:04:25
talk lions or um the general population is asking for transparency and accountability
00:04:30
but also the funding community is more and more aware of this and um
00:04:35
requiring extra accountability and integrity just this morning i think
00:04:39
it was there of community who mentioned how important integrity
00:04:42
it's also for funding decisions and for making sure that money is invested in a sustainable manner not not last
00:04:50
so um the w. p. l. p. that i just mentioned is um um
00:04:55
the yeah our our current example of implementing the approach you had in your
00:05:00
through us strategic back stopping mandate so what we aim to
00:05:03
do together with sequence to institutional arise um this integrity management approach
00:05:08
in the whole sector and integrated in in the program as a substantial element off off the whole program
00:05:15
and also to your um develop is it as a critical
00:05:19
success factor for um developing the whole opinion what the sector
00:05:23
i'm happy to discuss more on this in a later on so what we're doing here um capacity building
00:05:30
as i mentioned already of an institution consultant integrity assessment
00:05:34
and the final evaluation in in four years from now
00:05:37
coaching and technical assistance and of course uh awareness raising
00:05:41
in the general public and also in all different sector level
00:05:45
and so we're happy to have such an experienced and uh
00:05:48
well equipped a dedicated team of local and international experts at speaker
00:05:53
and i'm a happy to highlight again all successful partnership with that's ego and i'm i'm
00:05:59
very uh i'm very excited to to um the next phase and also to the future um
00:06:06
um engagements to get and what i would like to know from you also um
00:06:11
and what i'm happy to discuss in the market place it's way to use the out the potential but
00:06:15
also limitations of integrity and as a key driving
00:06:20
force them in this if for sustainable button sanitation investments
